The Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan has developed a draft resolution that introduces amendments to the government resolution of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 6, 2018, No. 173 "On the approval of excise tax rates for gasoline (excluding aviation), diesel fuel, gasohol, benzene, naphtha, a mixture of light hydrocarbons, and ecological fuel," reports Kazpravda.kz
The document stipulates the establishment of an additional excise tax rate on gasoline (excluding aviation) and diesel fuel, aiming to allocate 80% of the additional margins of fuel producers and sellers to the budget in light of the removal of state price regulation on fuel.
Thus, this measure will enable the redistribution of 80% of the additional income from fuel sales to the budget. It is important to note that the additional excise tax will only apply if prices increase from the current level.
