"It should be noted that the fields that account for up to 30% of oil production are at later stages of development, with a decline in oil extraction," explained the head of the agency.
He mentioned that there is a significant decrease in oil production in the Mangistau, Aktobe, and Kyzylorda regions. At the same time, the last two regions supply most of their oil to the domestic market.
Furthermore, according to the minister, by 2040, the trend of declining oil production in fields, excluding major ones, will continue.
"To address this issue, measures to support mature fields have been developed, including tax incentives, with the condition of mandatory reinvestment in the development and implementation of new extraction technologies, which will allow for an additional extraction of about 40 million tons by 2045," noted the head of the Ministry of Energy.
