A new deputy akim has been appointed in Ust-Kamenogorsk.

Abzal Maulethанов has been appointed as the deputy akim of Ust-Kamenogorsk. The relevant decree was signed by the city’s leader on February 4, 2025, as reported by NUR.KZ, citing the akimat of Ust-Kamenogorsk.

According to the official page of the agency on Instagram, Abzal Askarovich graduated from the East Kazakhstan State University named after Amanzholov and Alikhan Bokeikhan University in Ust-Kamenogorsk.

He has 8 years of experience in public service. Over the years, he has worked in the Zaisan, Altai, Urjar, and Glubokovsky districts.

His most recent position was as the head of the housing and communal services, passenger transport, and road department of Ust-Kamenogorsk.

Recall that at the end of November last year, Zhaksylyk Omar announced his resignation from the position of akim of Ust-Kamenogorsk due to the expiration of his term. He held this position since August 20, 2018.

In December, with the agreement of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the deputies of the city maslikhat, Abzal Akishov was appointed as the head of Ust-Kamenogorsk by the decree of the akim of East Kazakhstan region. Prior to this, he headed the Kurchum district.
