The Ministry of Transport responded to rumors of a fourfold increase in toll road prices in Kazakhstan.

During a government briefing, the head of the Ministry of Transport addressed claims circulating on social media regarding a fourfold increase in toll road prices in Kazakhstan, as reported by a NUR.KZ correspondent.
Министерство транспорта ответило на слухи о четырехкратном увеличении цен на платные дороги в Казахстане.

"No, I do not confirm that road prices will increase fourfold. Each road has a different rate of increase. In certain sections, it is 30%, in others, 40%. Overall, we are gradually moving towards higher prices. This does not concern local residents. The prices will remain the same as they were. This is primarily aimed at foreign and transit vehicles. This is unverified and incorrect information," said Minister Marat Karabaev.

He added that Kazakhstan will introduce paid status for an additional 18 road sections totaling 4,000 km.

"For the newly introduced sections, a fixed price will be established. The situation varies across all 17 current sections, depending on the maintenance needs of the roads: in some cases, 40%, in others, 50%. The situation is different. The data has been published on our website," the minister added.

It should be noted that paid roads in Kazakhstan were first introduced in 2013. Since then, over more than 10 years, 17 paid sections have emerged, totaling 3,221 km.

Recently, we reported on the cost of traveling on paid roads in Kazakhstan in 2025.

We also remind you that the Kyzylorda - Aralsk road recently became paid - on January 26, the toll collection system on this section began to operate.
