On the brink of war: Pakistan and Afghanistan exchange strikes along the border.

For over a week, Pakistan and Afghanistan have been exchanging airstrikes along their border. According to the Telegram channel Bild, at least 46 people have died as a result of Pakistani airstrikes in eastern Afghanistan, as reported by Orda.kz.
На грани конфликта: Пакистан и Афганистан ведут обмен ударами на пограничной территории.

In response, the Afghan Taliban deployed military equipment and 15,000 soldiers to the border (according to British media). Following this, the Afghans launched an attack and destroyed "several" Pakistani positions along the disputed border. Clashes are ongoing in that area.

Representatives of the Taliban told the British newspaper Telegraph that they are prepared for any further escalation of the conflict:

“We don’t care if they have a nuclear bomb — we have faith and we know that God is with us,” said a senior Taliban official.

Pakistan's leaders are also unwilling to concede. The government accuses the Afghan Taliban of providing shelter to Pakistani militants.

Primarily, this concerns the group "Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan" (TTP), which the Afghan Taliban are reportedly supplying with weapons. The TTP is causing chaos in Pakistan. In 2024 alone, at least 685 people were killed as a result of 444 attacks on Pakistani security forces.
According to the latest report from the UN Security Council, up to 6,500 TTP militants are hiding in Afghanistan.

“The Taliban do not consider the TTP a terrorist group,” the report states.

After seizing power, they released militants from prisons.
