Kozhanov: The president's new reforms address long-standing issues within the economy.

The Speaker of the Mazhilis, Chairman of the AMANAT party, Erlan Koshanov, noted that the president has proposed a new extensive modernization agenda in light of current global challenges. This agenda includes major infrastructure projects, digitalization and artificial intelligence, the development of nuclear energy, strengthening the agricultural sector, and attracting investments.

"The reforms proposed by the president will help address many long-standing issues in the economy and other areas. The AMANAT party, as the leading political force in the country, must act as a driver for the implementation of all the president's directives. All of them are aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens. We must effectively communicate the progressive nature of these reforms to society and unite Kazakhs around the course of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev," – he said.

The Chairman of the AMANAT party also elaborated on the approaches to working on a new Tax Code in the context of the government's proposals to increase VAT and reduce the threshold for its application. The relevant committee should develop a specific position on these norms, taking into account international experience and the analysis of their impact on the economy and business environment.

Furthermore, deputies are expected to take measures in the shortest possible time to create a clear and transparent legislative framework for subsoil users, diversify the economy, and develop infrastructure, energy, and agriculture. This will establish new rules for attracting foreign investments to the country and creating additional jobs.

Erlan Koshanov also emphasized the need to enhance the effectiveness of the akims' corps.

"The head of state highlighted the importance of comprehensive training for elected akims and leaders at various levels. The president tasked the launch of an educational project called 'School of Akims.' He particularly noted the experience of the AMANAT party, which conducts similar work. Elected akims must justify the trust of voters; they must possess the necessary competencies to operate within the executive branch. The party is ready to tackle this task together with the government," – said Erlan Koshanov.

During the meeting on the practical implementation of the president's directives, party members also spoke. Nurtaı Sabilıanov discussed measures to improve the investment climate, Askhаt Aimagambetov addressed the modernization of the OMS system and further development of the education sector, Erlan Sairov called for adapting to changes in global politics and ensuring greater public involvement in the implementation of the president's directives. Meanwhile, Bolatbek Nazhmetdinuly pointed out that agriculture should focus on profitable crops, Dyuсenbay Turganov emphasized the progressiveness of constructing several nuclear power plants in the country, and Tatyana Savelieva focused on optimizing ineffective expenditures and transitioning to a principle of total budgetary savings.

Summarizing the outcomes of the meeting, Mazhilis Speaker Erlan Koshanov stressed that the AMANAT faction must ensure timely and quality preparation of laws that will create a legal foundation for the implementation of the tasks set by the president. All laws should be adopted considering the public's position and specific solutions to existing economic problems. This is a direct responsibility of the deputies to the people and the head of state.
