The architectural project competition of the capital was presented during the fourth meeting of the discussion platform "Arkhihaba." The event brought together experts in urban planning, as reported by Kazpravda.kz referencing the Akimat of Astana.
"Arkhihab" serves as a discussion platform for addressing current issues in architecture and urban development. This year's theme is "A City for People: Balancing Comfort, Ecology, and Economy." The program featured presentations by leading architects, urbanists, and designers, as well as panel discussions on crucial topics related to city development.
The main goal of the competition is to identify and showcase the best architectural projects that can influence the development of the urban environment. There are no territorial restrictions—projects from all cities in Kazakhstan are welcome to participate. The competition includes projects developed from 2022 to 2025 in three categories: "Best Exterior," "Best Public Space," and "Best Public Building." Architects actively collaborate with developers and city authorities, making the participation of all interested parties essential.
I believe that such events lead to concrete practical solutions. For example, at the third meeting, we established a working group that developed a project to improve the urban environment. This year, we aim to implement a pilot project and demonstrate that streets can indeed be convenient and comfortable," said Aslan Kandygulov, director of the Center for Urban Environment Sustainability in Astana.
The results of the competition will be announced in October 2025. All detailed information, including qualification requirements, will be published on the official Instagram page @urbanescenter.
The event was organized by the Public Fund "Center for Urban Environment Sustainability," which brings together leading experts in urban planning.
