The first phase of the construction of a modern fishery complex, which will specialize in the cultivation of up to 10,000 tons of trout and barramundi annually, has been completed, reports Kazpravda.kz citing the Committee for Fisheries.
The total cost of the project by "Ospanova Development" amounts to 67.3 billion tenge.
The construction of the complex on a 35-hectare site began in 2021. In October 2023, the first test stocking was successfully carried out, during which 25,000 fry of trout and barramundi were released.
"In 2024, the first phase of construction will be completed. The complex includes technological, administrative, and engineering blocks. There are pools for housing imported fish, filtration units, incubation tanks, and workshops for growing live feed, including Artemia and rotifers,” – the message states.
With a phased increase in capacity, the complex will be able to produce up to 10,000 tons of fish per year. It is expected that the main markets for the products will be Kazakhstan and the CIS countries.
As a reminder, earlier measures were taken to rescue fish fry at the Baksai water canal in the Atyrau region.
