At the initial stage, silent mini-helicopters will transport passengers from Almaty to Alatau.
“The aeromobile is a type of mini-helicopter that operates on hydrogen and can accommodate up to five people. Such technologies are actively being developed by South Korean and American companies. One of the Kazakhstani companies has also expressed interest in participating in the development of the aeromobile industry. We are currently exploring the possibility of piloting this technology in Kazakhstan. The first stage involves a route from Almaty to the city of Alatau. We are discussing this matter with Kazakh entrepreneurs. The pilot launch is scheduled for 2026,” commented the head of the agency at a press conference.
According to him, there are currently no legislative restrictions in Kazakhstan for the operation of unmanned vehicles.
“We are not developing a legislative amendment regarding who will bear responsibility in the event of an accident. Today, a proposal was received from the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry to study how other countries are forming their regulatory frameworks. We will consider this issue. As the development and use of unmanned vehicles progresses in the Republic of Kazakhstan, you can be assured that we will prepare the legislative framework,” summarized Marat Karabaev.
It is worth noting that, at the instruction of the head of state, to promote domestic tourism and passenger air transportation, construction of three new airports in the resort areas of Zaisan, Katon-Karagay, and Kendirli has begun in 2025.
Additionally, earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbaev held the second meeting of the Project Office on issues of Alatau development.
