“At the beginning of next year, in March, we plan to approach the Antimonopoly Committee with a proposal for a slight increase in tariffs. This is necessary to incorporate the expenses related to the project of integrating the Western Energy Zone of Kazakhstan with the national system,” clarified a representative of KEGOC.
The project mentioned by Akimbaeva is considered strategic for the development of the country's energy system; however, its implementation will require additional costs, which will serve as the basis for adjusting tariffs.
It is worth noting that in the first three quarters of 2024, the compensation of KEGOC's top managers increased by 56% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 577 million tenge. This was reported by the Kazakhstan Association of Minority Shareholders (QAMS), citing the company's financial statements. The majority of this amount consists of salaries, bonuses, and additional payments, such as material assistance and vacation pay. For comparison, during the same period in 2023, KEGOC's executives received 370 million tenge.
The company's board of directors has been chaired since 2022 by 37-year-old Ernat Berdigulov, who previously held management positions at Samruk-Kazyna, Kazatomprom, and other large organizations. The management board is led by 44-year-old Nabi Aitjanov, who has extensive experience in the energy sector.
In 2024, KEGOC earned 232.4 billion tenge, increasing its financial assets to 43.4 billion tenge, while the expenses for maintaining the board of directors amounted to 12.2 million tenge.
