Several bold predictions have been made regarding potential events in the world of mixed martial arts for 2025, including the possibility of "handing over" the UFC welterweight championship belt to a Kazakh fighter (19-0), as reported by MMA.Metaratings.ru and Vesti.kz.

"The UFC will see its first champion from Kazakhstan."

Shavkat Rakhmonov is the official contender for the UFC welterweight title, while Asu Almatbaev is ranked seventh in the flyweight division and is on the verge of a title fight. There is a strong likelihood that Kazakhstan will have a UFC champion by the end of 2025.

If Rakhmonov dethrones Belal Muhammad, there’s no doubt he will become a national hero in the country. "Nomad" has a massive fan base supporting him. Should Shavkat achieve championship status, the UFC might consider hosting an event in Kazakhstan, marking a historic occasion," the publication states.

It’s worth noting that Rakhmonov and Muhammad (24-3) were scheduled to fight in the main event of UFC 310, which took place on December 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. However, the American fighter of Palestinian descent withdrew from the match due to health issues. He was replaced by Irishman Ian Garry (15-1), who lost to the Kazakh fighter by judges' decision after five rounds.

Following this victory, Rakhmonov rose from third to second place in the UFC welterweight rankings.

Previously, the potential date for the Rakhmonov vs. Muhammad fight this year was revealed; more details can be found here.
