According to Kazakh Tourism, Kazakhstan has been awarded the title of "Most Promising New Destination of 2025". This prestigious nomination was presented to Kazakh Tourism by the leading Chinese online travel agency Tongcheng Travel, reports Kazpravda.kz.
Tongcheng Travel, one of the top online travel agencies in China, offers comprehensive services for travel planning and boasts over 230 million users. According to the platform, demand for trips to Kazakhstan among Chinese tourists surged by 300% in 2024 compared to the previous year. The online travel agency predicts that this trend will continue this year.
"Following the Year of Tourism, we recorded nearly a twofold increase in tourists from China and an even greater interest among Chinese travelers in exploring Kazakhstan. We intend to maintain this trend and expand cooperation with leading online platforms in the PRC," said Kairat Sadvakassov, Chairman of the Board of JSC "National Company Kazakh Tourism".
In 2024, as a result of the Year of Domestic Tourism in the PRC, the flow of visitors from China increased by 78% compared to the previous year, totaling 655,000 people. This indicates significant interest in the country's natural landscapes, historical monuments, and cultural heritage.
Furthermore, the authoritative British publication Lonely Planet has named Kazakhstan one of the best countries to visit this year, and according to CNN Travel, Almaty has made the list of top travel destinations for 2025.
