Kazakhstan has surpassed Indonesia in the ranking of the world's "strongest" passports.

Kazakhstan shares the 52nd position in the ranking of the "strongest" passports in the world with Guyana and Thailand, according to NUR.KZ, referencing Global Passport Power. The ranking includes a total of 95 positions.

According to the ranking, citizens of our country can visit 46 countries without a visa, and can obtain a visa on arrival in 50 countries. However, Kazakhstani citizens will need a visa to enter 102 countries worldwide.

The United Arab Emirates passport topped the ranking, allowing visa-free travel to 133 countries.

The ranking takes into account the number of countries that citizens of a specific state can visit without a visa or obtain one upon arrival. It also considers the number of countries with which each state still maintains a visa regime.

Earlier this year, it was reported that the governments of Kazakhstan and Morocco are discussing an agreement to mutually exempt citizens from visa requirements.

In November 2024, it was reported that in the VisGuide ranking, the Kazakh passport was recognized as the strongest in Central Asia. In February of last year, consulting firm Arton Capital published a ranking of the strength of passports worldwide. At that time, the Kazakh passport ranked among the strongest in the CIS, placing 54th out of 93.
