This Sunday, March 2, a historic tournament will take place in our country, as for the first time in the history of the American promotion, a fighter from Kazakhstan will compete in the main event of the evening. A correspondent from Vesti.kz shares all the details about the live broadcast of the event and the start time of the fight.
The tournament UFC Vegas 103 will be held in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) during the night from March 1 to 2, according to Kazakhstan time. The prelims will begin at 02:00 Astana time, while the main card will start at 05:00. A total of 12 fights are scheduled, with the highlight being a ranking match between Angolan fighter Manel Kape (20-7) and Kazakhstani fighter Asu Almaev (21-2).
What time should you wake up for Almaev's fight?
The main card, starting at 05:00 Kazakhstan time, will feature five bouts. Typically, organizers allocate about half an hour for a standard three-round fight (including fighter entrances, breaks between rounds, announcing the winner, and interviews in the octagon).
This means that the fifth fight of the main card is expected to start around 07:00. However, we recommend waking up a bit earlier, around 10-15 minutes ahead (06:45-06:50), to ensure you don’t miss anything.
Before the fight between Kape and Almaev, middleweights from the USA Cody Brundage (10-6-0-1) and Julian Marquez (9-5) will face off in the cage. Ideally, you should wake up towards the end of their fight so that you don’t miss anything related to Asu's bout.
Where to watch the live broadcast of the Kape - Almaev fight?
The five-round match between 31-year-old Kape and Almaev will be aired live on television. There are several options for viewing:
- On Setanta Sports 2;
- On "Match TV";
- On "Match! Fighter".
Additionally, don't forget about the option to watch UFC fights through subscriptions on convenient services:
- Via subscription to UFC Fight Pass ;
- Via "Yandex Plus" subscription on the "KinoPoisk" service in the "Sports" section.
Remember, this is the biggest fight in Asu's fighting career, as he is on a 17-fight winning streak. In the current rankings of the flyweight division, Kape is in sixth place, while Almaev is in eighth. Notably, bookmakers consider the fighter from Angola to be the favorite.
Asu has a record of 4-0 in the UFC and is ready to secure another victory. In contrast, Kape holds a record of 5-3 in the league, although he is regarded as one of the most dangerous competitors in this division. He is the only fighter to have ever stopped Kazakhstani fighter Zhalgas Zhumagulov in the first round—knocking him out in December 2021 at 4:02 of the first five-minute round.
