As the specialist explained, it's important to choose the right foods for breakfast; otherwise, one might experience heartburn or trigger insulin spikes, which can lead to weight gain.

“It's advisable to avoid simple carbohydrates found in bread, pastries, and instant breakfasts. These foods quickly elevate insulin levels in the blood, which contributes to weight gain. Instead, it's better to consume complex carbohydrates, such as grains,” — recommended the expert.

She also cautioned about the dangers of coffee, which can cause heartburn on an empty stomach, increasing the risk of gastritis or ulcers. Therefore, it is better to enjoy this aromatic beverage after meals. The same goes for juices, particularly citrus ones.

For breakfast beverages, room temperature water, green tea, and rosehip tea are more suitable. They can be paired with omelets, porridge, casseroles, avocados, or nuts. However, it is advisable to avoid fermented dairy products in the morning, as they won't provide any benefits.
