This unique publication is released by the Turan University, and it recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. Roman was the first to conquer the staircase to the Medeu dam by jumping, pushing off with both legs simultaneously. He achieved a time of 19 minutes 15 seconds and completed 223 jumps.
- Roman, why did you choose the jumping method for ascending the staircase?
- When I learned about this staircase, I wanted to train on it. This was during my time as a professional athlete specializing in sprinting and long jump. However, I couldn't go there often as it was time-consuming. I noticed that most people either walked or ran up the staircase without performing any specific exercises. I came up with the idea of overcoming this staircase by jumping, pushing off with both legs at the same time. When I transitioned from professional sports to the fitness sector, I had the opportunity to try it out myself.
- How long did the preparation take?
- The training process took about four months.
- What is your personal record for jumps?
- My best result in the long jump is 7 meters 28 centimeters, and from a standing position, it is 3 meters 20 centimeters.

- What needs to be done to set a similar record?
- If you want to achieve something in life, change yourself, and reach new heights, you will have to rid yourself of bad habits and put in significant effort. It's tough. Most people go through life without realizing their talent. And those who understand what they are talented at do not always work on its development. The only thing that can make you happy is taking a step up. It’s the realization of what you are capable of. Touching a state where you break through the inertia of daily life and catch a glimpse, even peripherally, of your true self. When you dive headfirst into the swamp of your fears and engage in battle with them to keep moving forward. That’s when events start to unfold that you have been waiting for. All these are essential qualities of a winner. I can't describe this power to you, but I know it exists. It reveals itself when a person realizes what they want and fully dedicates themselves to achieving it.
- Do you have any ideas for new records?
- Friends suggested the idea of finding similar staircases in foreign cities and overcoming them in this way. I am currently thinking about this. However, I already have ideas that are not related to this record. They pertain to a different activity and the development of other abilities. I can't reveal the details yet. I can only say that it will take place outside of Kazakhstan and, if successful, will benefit the image of our country.
