According to the case materials, from 2004 to 2022, he secretly recorded six thousand hours of gynecological examinations, which included sexual harassment and violence.
The investigation claims that Bai engaged in manipulations unrelated to medical procedures. The indictment states that he used fingers and objects for penetration, as well as touched the intimate areas of the patients. These actions occurred without their consent and in situations where the women were physically unable to resist.
Arne Bai, who had been a doctor for over 20 years, earned the trust of the local community. In 2020, he even received an award for his contributions to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. However, behind this public persona were allegations that shocked the entire community.
Bai himself denies the accusations and asserts that the video recordings serve as evidence of his professional ethics.
“Our client understands that the charges are very serious and extensive. Over time, this case has become a significant burden for our client, the victims, and their surroundings. We emphasize that there is currently no conviction in this case, and the defendant should be presumed innocent until proven otherwise,” states the doctor’s lawyer Erlend Hjulstad Nielsen.
The court proceedings will take another four months. Investigators intend to thoroughly examine all evidence to uncover the truth and achieve justice for the victims.
