In annual terms, inflation reached 8.9%, with the most significant increases observed in mobile communication services and utility tariffs.
In January 2025, the consumer price index in Kazakhstan was 1.1%. Prices for food products rose by 1.4%, paid services by 1.1%, and non-food goods by 0.6%. Specifically, the price of potatoes increased by 16.4%, cabbage by 8.8%, and garlic by 6.4%. Meanwhile, buckwheat decreased in price by 1.5%.
Utility prices also went up; for instance, the fee for intercom services increased by 4.1%, while heating costs rose by 2.2%. In the non-food goods sector, there was a noted rise in prices for household appliances and vehicles.
The highest price growth was recorded in Atyrau region (2.2%), while the lowest was in Almaty and Turkestan region (0.7%).
In annual terms, inflation amounted to 8.9%.
Utility tariffs, such as for cold water and electricity, have significantly increased. At the same time, some products, like buckwheat and lemons, have become cheaper.
