Chechen fighter UFC Khamzat Chimaev (14-0) has officially become a citizen of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), reports Vesti.kz . The undefeated fighter shared a post on social media regarding this news.
"It is a great honor and privilege for me to represent this wonderful nation as both an athlete and a citizen. I want to thank the UAE for their support, and I will do everything possible to make this country proud of me," Chimaev wrote on his Instagram.

It should be noted that Chimaev has been competing in the octagon as a representative of the UAE since September 2023. Previously, he held Swedish citizenship, which he renounced after emigrating.
He boasts 14 victories in 14 MMA fights, including a successful streak of eight bouts in the UFC. Currently, he ranks in the top 3 middleweights.
