Legendary former fighters UFC Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor may find themselves on opposite sides of the octagon, reports Vesti.kz.
Khabib and Conor are likely to face off as cornermen in the title fight at Bellator in the lightweight division between Usman Nurmagomedov and Irishman Paul Hughes.
The match is scheduled for January 25, 2025, in Dubai (UAE). According to journalist DovySime MMA, Khabib will be in the corner of his cousin Usman, while McGregor will support his fellow countryman Hughes.
It’s worth noting that in 2018, Khabib and Conor clashed in one of the most high-profile fights in UFC history, where the Russian won by submission in the fourth round, defending his lightweight title.
Remember, Nurmagomedov retired in 2021, finishing with 29 victories in 29 MMA fights. He is a former UFC lightweight champion and has also been inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
The last time 36-year-old McGregor fought was in July 2021 in Las Vegas, when he broke his leg in the first round against Dustin Poirier. As a result, the victory was awarded to the American by technical knockout.
