He mentioned that this is the second book created in collaboration with the founder of the BonArt auction house, Maxim Tkachenko. The first one was dedicated to the Kazakh uprising of 1916.
Dosym Satpaev expressed his gratitude to the renowned art historian Valery Ibraev for his assistance in creating the book, as well as to the researcher of nomadic culture, Julia Ghani.
“A significant amount of research was conducted for each illustration and its attribution. It felt like a real detective investigation.
As a result, the book not only features a wealth of beautiful paintings, graphics, lithographs, and other images found in private collections in Almaty, but also includes many fascinating accounts from travelers of past centuries,”wrote Dosym Satpaev on Facebook
