The first UFC tournament of 2025 took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, where top representatives of the women's strawweight division from Brazil faced off in the main event - Mackenzie Dern (15-5) and Amanda Ribas (13-6), as reported by Vesti.kz.
The fight was scheduled for five rounds but ended in the third when Dern successfully executed a submission hold. This victory allowed her to avenge her previous loss to Ribas by a judges' decision in October 2019.
For Mackenzie, this marks her 15th win in her career against five losses. Amanda has now suffered her sixth defeat out of 13 victories. The co-main event concluded with a knockout: Argentine welterweight Santiago Ponzinibbio (31-8) defeated Guyanese fighter Carlston Harris (19-7), who was knocked out in the first round by Kazakh fighter Shavkat Rakhmonov (19-0) three years ago.
