The case of the former Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan, accused of a billion-dollar embezzlement, has been submitted to court.
The Anti-Corruption Agency has completed its investigation into the former Vice Minister of Culture and Sports, as well as the management of the contracting organization, on suspicion of serious crimes, according to Orda.kz.

The Anti-Corruption Agency detained former Vice Minister of Culture and Sports Erlan Kozhagapanov on March 1, 2024, as a result of covert operations.
Later, the agency reported that the vice minister was arrested on suspicion of lobbying for the interests of an unnamed "commercial organization" during the signing of a contract for the organization of the XV Interregional Forum on Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation held in Petropavlovsk in 2018.
