Spending 5,000 rubles and receiving an apartment worth several million rubles in return sounds like a movie plot. However, thanks to an honest campaign by the M.Video-Eldorado Group, many have come to believe: the "bird of happiness" truly exists.

As a reminder, before the New Year, the M.Video-Eldorado Group, in collaboration with the federal real estate company "Etazhi" and the IT company SberDevices, manufacturer of Sber smart devices, organized a large-scale apartment giveaway in the capital. To participate, it was enough to be registered in the company's loyalty program and purchase goods worth at least 5,000 rubles at the stores or websites of the Group.

For every 5,000 rubles spent, participants received 5 "square meters" (still virtual for now). Additional chances to win were provided by purchasing products from partner brands — Carrera and Sber smart devices. The more "squares," the higher the chances that the hypothetical area would turn into a real apartment in the residential complex "Flower Meadows."

"I just hung up..."

The selection of winners was completely transparent: an online stream during which hosts Masha Novaya and Yan Maers called the next lucky winner. However, getting through was not easy: even those who hoped to win didn't immediately realize it was real.

— I generally don't answer calls from unknown numbers, — explains former sailor and now pensioner Leonid Russkikh from St. Petersburg. — I was waiting for someone, so I answered. But as soon as I heard what they were saying, I hung up. Later, I called the store where I made the purchase, and they confirmed that I was the winner. After that, I answered the call.

Leonid had gone to the store for a television — he actually bought a Sber model, which provided increased chances of winning the apartment. And there it was, luck!

— I've never won anything in life — this is my first time, — admits the St. Petersburg resident. — A very nice surprise for me and my family — I have five granddaughters, and we love watching TV together.

Lucky were the generous and loving

In total, nearly 3 million people participated in the campaign, making about 3.8 million purchases. Interestingly, luck smiled more often on those who wanted to please their loved ones. For example, the very first apartment owner in the capital — Vladimir Kashin from Novosibirsk — bought a handheld vacuum cleaner for his wife, Igor Filatov from Kursk gifted his wife a kitchen machine, while electrician Ilia Batyrshin from Yekaterinburg purchased gifts for his parents: a smartphone for his mother and a trimmer for his father for 5,000 rubles. It was the gift for his dad that brought him victory.

However, for obstetrician, pediatric rehabilitation specialist, and mother of many Marina Kamylina from the Krasnoyarsk region, it wasn’t about gifts — she urgently needed to buy a laptop to replace a broken one.

— Circumstances arose such that the purchase was completely unplanned, — Marina recounts.

She went to M.Video for the new equipment — the store had just opened in Sosnovoborsk. And when the hosts of the live broadcast called her a few days later — she didn’t immediately recall the campaign and didn’t believe what was happening.

— The few days were very strange, with mixed feelings, — smiles the winner. — Until I received a call from M.Video confirming my win — my apartment was the seventh one drawn. Everyone was in shock — both friends and parents. I'm generally not a lucky person — nothing has ever just fallen into my lap; I’ve always worked for everything.

While Marina's family isn't considering moving to the capital just yet, she says the apartment will definitely come in handy. She has three children, and while her eldest son is already a student, the younger ones are yet to pursue higher education. It’s possible that this will be in the capital.

"A feeling of a miracle that happens once in a lifetime"

About how the apartment will be useful for her children also reflects Teresa Kodzaeva from Vladikavkaz. She and her husband purchased computer equipment for work from M.Video and, as Teresa now admits, didn't even pay attention to the campaign.

— After the purchase, I received a message saying I was participating in the giveaway, and when they called from the live broadcast, I didn’t even pick up, thinking it was spam, — Teresa shares. — Eventually, they sent me a message on a messenger asking me to answer the call. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I thought it was a joke, a scam. When I realized it was real, my husband and I were simply stunned: the feelings are incomparable. It’s a feeling of a miracle that happens only once in a lifetime.

Teresa admits: it was very hard to believe that it was true. Can luck really come so easily?! But ultimately, all winners were convinced that there are honest campaigns and honest people in our time.

— I am very grateful to M.Video-Eldorado for such honesty, — the woman says. — Until now, my main prize in life was my family. Now I’ve also been lucky materially.

SAID

Vasily Bolshakov, Marketing Director of M.Video-Eldorado Group

“We sincerely congratulate all the winners of our large-scale campaign — the giveaway of 11 apartments over 11 weeks in Moscow from M.Video-Eldorado! This campaign, dedicated to the Year of Family, has been special for us, as it not only allowed us to offer our clients a record selection of technology but also provided a real opportunity to obtain housing in the capital. It is particularly touching that many winners purchased technology as gifts for their loved ones, demonstrating family values and care for close people.

We are delighted that thanks to this campaign, 11 families from various parts of Russia — from the Caucasus to Siberia — have become owners of new apartments in Moscow. These are not just prizes, but a chance to start a new chapter in life, to create a cozy home, and to strengthen family bonds.

We thank all participants for their trust and active involvement in our campaigns. M.Video-Eldorado continues to work for you, offering not only quality technology but also opportunities that make life better and easier.”
