Denmark has updated its royal coat of arms following Trump's remarks about Greenland.

The new coat of arms prominently features symbols representing Greenland and the Faroe Islands, according to Orda.kz, citing The Guardian.
Дания обновила королевский герб в ответ на высказывания Трампа о Гренландии.
The three crowns, symbolizing the Kalmar Union between Denmark, Norway, and Sweden (1397–1523), were removed from the coat of arms after over 500 years of use. The coats of arms of Greenland (polar bear) and the Faroe Islands (ram) have taken more prominent positions: they are now placed in the second and third fields. The symbols of Denmark and Southern Jutland have moved to the first and fourth fields of the coat of arms.

The changes were seen as a move emphasizing the significance of autonomous territories for the kingdom in light of statements made by Donald Trump. In December 2024, Trump asserted that it is "absolutely essential" for the U.S. to own Greenland to strengthen national security and provide economic benefits for local residents.

Greenland's Prime Minister Múte Egede responded that the island "is not for sale and will never be for sale." At the same time, Egede expressed a desire to achieve independence from Denmark.
