The head of the Ministry of Energy commented on the drone attack on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).

The head of the Ministry of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliyev, commented on the drone attack on the CPC during a briefing following the agency's meeting, according to a correspondent from NUR.KZ.
Глава Минэнерго прокомментировал атаку дронов на КТК.

"A report on the damages has been presented, which was approved by the shareholders and the Kazakh side. As you know, there are large storage capacities for oil, around 1 million tons, for the stable operation of the CPC."

"The acceptance of Kazakh oil is ongoing without restrictions. Currently, loading is proceeding according to schedule, and the filling of tankers follows the previously agreed scheme. This period is related to recovery. Oil is being transported in a transit mode," reported Minister Almasadam Satkaliev.

Later, the minister discussed whether Kazakhstan had reached out to Ukraine and who would compensate for the damages.

"Certainly, consultations have been held through diplomatic channels regarding the restoration of damages. Currently, the recovery of damaged facilities is being financed by the enterprise itself," he explained.

It is worth noting that earlier, the press service of CPC reported that the "Kropotkinskaya" oil pumping station was attacked by drones. It was noted that the strike was carried out by seven unmanned aerial vehicles filled with not only explosives but also metal shrapnel.

Following this, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan stated that there were no restrictions on Kazakh oil from the CPC, and acceptance is being carried out in a normal mode.

However, on February 18, a statement appeared on the "Transneft" website indicating that the consequences of the attack on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) facility would take up to 2 months to resolve, which could lead to a reduction in oil pumping volumes from Kazakhstan by about 30%.

Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) published confirmation on social media of the attack carried out on February 17 against Russian oil refineries, including the "Kropotkinskaya" station.

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan also made a new statement regarding the situation at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium facility. As clarified by the agency, there are currently no restrictions on Kazakh oil from the CPC, and acceptance is proceeding as scheduled.

The situation was also addressed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

"This is a very important issue for the economy of Kazakhstan, and we will, of course, discuss this situation with our Ukrainian partners through diplomatic channels," stated the official representative of Kazakhstan's foreign ministry, Aybek Smadiyarov.

Last week, member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Baidildinov, commented on the situation at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) following the drone attacks.

Additionally, last week, Majilis deputy Marat Bashimov stated that damage had been inflicted on Kazakh-Ukrainian relations and called for the most stringent and principled measures to hold the responsible parties accountable.
