Asu Almbayev is left without a major fight in the UFC. Details have emerged.

The Kazakh fighter in the flyweight division, Asu Almaev (21-2), who competes in the UFC has lost his match against the Australian Steve Erceg (12-3), as reported by Vesti.kz .

According to information from Octagon Update shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Almaev has withdrawn from the fight and a replacement will soon be found for him.

However, as per the Telegram channel Red Fury MMA, which reached out to Asu, the Kazakh claims that he is perfectly fine and that it might have been Erceg who withdrew from the match.

It’s worth noting that their fight was scheduled to take place at UFC Vegas 103, which is set for March 1 in Las Vegas.

Almaev has fought four times in the UFC and has secured four victories. Erceg has had five bouts in the world’s top league, achieving three wins and two losses.

Erceg is currently ranked ninth in the division, while Almaev holds the eighth spot.

The last time Asu stepped into the octagon was on October 20. At UFC Fight Night 245 in Las Vegas (USA, Nevada), he defeated Brazilian Mateus Nicolau. The fight was scheduled for three rounds and concluded in favor of the Kazakh by unanimous decision from the judges.
