Asu Almbayev found himself compared to a top-10 UFC fighter.

The American website evaluated the level of the Kazakh fighter, who is set to face Australian Steve Erceg, as reported by Aсу Алмабаева Vesti.kz.

Their match will take place on March 1 in Las Vegas. Erceg is currently ranked ninth in the UFC flyweight division, while Almatbaev is in eighth place.

"According to a report from Dar Team Kazakhstan, Steve Erceg will compete against the eighth-ranked contender Aсу Алмабаева at the UFC Fight Night tournament on March 1. The event will be held at the UFC Apex arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The story of Kazakh fighter Almatbaev is reminiscent of "Astro Boy" Erceg's journey: he broke into the rankings after just three fights in the promotion. Currently, Almatbaev enters the UFC with a record of 4-0, and his latest victory was the biggest of his career—a decision win over Mateus Nicolaou in October. Almatbaev boasts an impressive record of 21-2 and has not lost in nearly eight years," the publication notes.

Almatbaev has fought four times in the UFC and secured four victories. Erceg has participated in five bouts in the world's top league: three wins and two losses.
