“In the 11 months of last year, ambulance teams across the country responded to over 7.7 million calls. Of these, 4.9 million were classified as first to third category emergencies, while 2.8 million fourth category calls were handled by teams at polyclinics. Despite the increase in the total number of calls, the successful resuscitation rate improved by 7.1% over the year, reaching 51.7% of all recorded cases,” reported the Ministry of Health.
Currently, the emergency medical service in the country consists of 20 independent stations, 98 urban substations, and 232 district branches, according to the Ministry of Health's statement.
In regional and city ambulance stations, there are 1,491 emergency teams operating in a single shift, while 446 teams are available to respond to fourth category urgency calls at primary healthcare organizations (polyclinics).
