The exhibition will run until March 24, 2025.
Kazakhstan places significant emphasis on the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation with European countries. One of the key areas of interaction in this field is the promotion of historical and cultural heritage.
The exhibition of Kazakhstan's historical heritage at the Museum of Eastern Arts, which houses the largest collection of Asian art in Europe, including several cultural artifacts from Kazakhstan, will be a landmark event in the art world.
The aim of the exhibition is to showcase Kazakhstan's centuries-old history and rich culture to the European and French public, highlighting the continuity and uniqueness of the cultural code of the Kazakh people through immersive presentations of museum artifacts.
The exhibition will feature 35 rare artifacts that illuminate key periods in Kazakhstan's history (from the 3rd millennium BC to the 18th century).
The exhibition consists of the following 5 sections:
- The Tobolsk Thinker, Botai Culture, and the Domestication of the Horse;
- The Golden Man. The Emergence of the First Saka States;
- Stone Statues. Medieval Kazakhstan during Turkic Hegemony;
- Lanterns from the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. The Development of Islam;
- Chapan of Kazybek Bi. The Kazakh Khanate and the Formation of Modern Kazakhstan.
The opening ceremony will be attended by prominent political figures from Kazakhstan and France, representatives of the diplomatic corps, culture and arts, the academic and student community, as well as the Kazakh diaspora in Europe.
