“Kazakh SSR, 1991. Just before the collapse of the USSR, 'Tamasha' separated from Central Television to become an independent theater. The KGB leadership, aiming to keep the very popular 'Tamasha' under control, assigned a young Timur Daribaev to the theater with the condition of his promotion. Timur successfully integrated into the theater, gathering incriminating evidence while getting to know each artist of 'Tamasha' closely and living their life. He began to uncover other aspects of the theater actors. After some time, Timur faced a dilemma. On one hand was his career, and on the other was 'Tamasha'. Ultimately, when it came time to report, he submitted only one piece of paper stating, 'Tamasha' is a treasure of the Kazakh people; it must be preserved.' Thus, he sacrificed his career but saved 'Tamasha',” the news agency reported.
The series will showcase all the significant events in the history of the most beloved theater among the Kazakh people, featuring well-known characters, interludes, and music.
