A monument dedicated to Shakarim Kudaiberdiyev has been unveiled in the Abai region.

A solemn ceremony was held in the Abai region to unveil a monument dedicated to Shakarim Kudayberdiyev—a distinguished poet, thinker, historian, translator, and composer who continued the traditions of the great Abai, as reported by Kazpravda.kz, citing the regional administration.

The height of the monument, including the pedestal, is 7.7 meters. The sculptural composition is made of bronze, while the pedestal is crafted from solid carved granite. The author of the sculpture is the renowned artist Nurbol Kaliev. In the hands of the great poet are a book and a tasbih, symbolizing his spiritual and intellectual legacy. The monument is located at the intersection of Shakarim Avenue and Kabanbay Batyr Street.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory letter in honor of the monument's unveiling. The Akim of the region, Nurlan Uranhaev, read the congratulatory message during the ceremonial event.

The literary and philosophical heritage of Shakarim Kudaiberdiev holds a special place in the history of Kazakh culture. He was not only a poet but also a philosopher, whose works delve into profound questions of humanism, history, and enlightenment. Shakarim created works in various genres, including poetry, prose, and treatises. His creativity established a realistic tradition in Kazakh literature, continuing the ideas of Abai. His legacy is of immense significance not only for the Kazakh people but also for the entire Turkic and Eastern cultures.

The event was attended by the Akim of the region Nurlan Uranhaev, chairman of the Maslikhat Shalkar Baibekov, deputies, scholars, Abai experts, public figures, and local residents.
