The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan has presented key points regarding state youth policy for the year 2024, as reported by Kazpravda.kz
As part of the implementation of youth policy, necessary conditions are being created to support and develop young people, assistance is provided for their employment and housing, grant projects are being implemented, and competitions are held to identify and promote talents in various fields, with an emphasis on youth leadership.
The main focus for working with Kazakhstani youth in 2024 is the concept of "Aadal azamat." This promotes the values of honesty, fairness, and hard work.
Youth organizations and youth resource centers have actively participated in the nationwide campaign "Taza Kazakhstan." Under the "Zhasyl El" project, nearly 35,000 young people across the country have been engaged in seasonal employment.
Particular attention is given to working with NEET youth, whose number exceeds 160,000 individuals. These are young Kazakhs without education and employment. This year, to support the initiatives of NEET youth, the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan allocated 280 grants under the "Zhas project."
To facilitate employment, the "Jol Tap" program has been implemented in Astana since 2023, and starting in 2024, the "Jumys Tap" program will be launched in Almaty and the Aktobe and Karaganda regions. Since the beginning of the year, over 500 job fairs have been held across the country.
At the beginning of 2024, the composition of the "Council for Youth Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was updated. This year, the Council members initiated and awarded the "Jas Kenes Syilygy" prize for young specialists for the first time.
Additionally, for the first time this year, the International Youth Day in Kazakhstan was celebrated with the national decade "Zhasar men birge!" which lasted from August 3 to 12. During these 10 days, over 5,000 events were held, reaching more than 1 million people.
The ceremony to award the brightest and most talented youth of Kazakhstan – the laureates of the State Prize "Daryn" – took place. 20 young Kazakhs distinguished in creativity, science, sports, media, and information technology were recognized.
State support was granted to 30 winners of the "Tәуелсіздік ұрпақтары" grant, whose projects were deemed the best. These initiatives span culture, science, media, information technology, and business. This year, a new direction – "Volunteering" – was also added.
A roadmap has been developed to strengthen cooperation with republican youth organizations for the years 2024-2026.
Alongside this, conditions are being created for international experience and interaction among Kazakhstani youth. For instance, on August 5, an intellectual game ZAKOVAT was held in Astana between teams from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. On April 18, a Kazakh-Kyrgyz youth forum took place in Astana, featuring creative youth and leaders of youth organizations.
