Kazakhstan has set new regulations for bus stations and passenger transportation services.

These changes aim to enhance the level of comfort and safety for all road users in Kazakhstan, reports Kazpravda.kz.

In Kazakhstan, requirements have been established for bus stations, terminals, and passenger transportation.

The Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan has approved national standards.

According to the national standard "Services of bus stations, terminals, and passenger service points:

- Bus stations and terminals, provided they have contracts with transport companies, including members of the Chamber of Road Carriers, must organize pre-departure technical inspections of buses.

- Bus stations are required to have facilities for the long-term (overnight) rest of bus driver crews, etc.

As per the new standard "Transport services for passenger taxi transportation. General requirements," passenger and luggage transport must be conducted using standard passenger cars equipped in accordance with the rules and standards of the Chamber of Road Carriers. The requirements also include accessibility for taxi services for individuals with disabilities, including specially adapted vehicles for transporting such individuals, provision of necessary situational assistance, loading and unloading of luggage, as well as equipment to support the mobility and daily living of persons with disabilities and other conditions.

ST RK 2273-2024 "Transport services for regular and irregular passenger transportation. General requirements" sets forth the requirements for carriers and buses, which must comply with the technical documentation of the vehicle manufacturer, the technical regulation "On the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles," and national standards ST RK 41.36, ST RK 41.52, as well as being equipped with an emergency services call device.

These changes aim to create a higher level of comfort and safety for all road traffic participants in Kazakhstan.
