"To impose a ban on the export of certain types of timber from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan by all modes of transport for a period of six months, regardless of the country of origin, except for wooden sleepers made from coniferous species for railway or tram tracks, as well as other wood products and wood pellets originating from Kazakhstan," the document states.
It is explained that the ban is being implemented to provide domestic manufacturers with access to affordable raw materials.
The order is set to take effect on December 12, 2024.
The document has been published on the "Open NPA" website for public discussion until November 1.
The ban on the export of certain types of timber has been in effect in Kazakhstan since 2023.
It was previously introduced on June 12, 2024.
