Ambassador Katie Leach: "The UK has adopted the concept of yurt glamping from Kazakhstan."

This was shared by the British Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Katie Leach, during the exclusive podcast hosted by Kairat Sadvaqasov, Chairman of the Board of the national company Kazakh Tourism, titled "Born Bold. Travel Boldcast," as reported by Kazpravda.kz.
Посол Кэти Лич: «Великобритания заимствовала идею юрточного глэмпинга из Казахстана».

The diplomat emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism and the concept of glamping, which has minimal impact on nature, in an interview.

“One of the challenges in this field is to make tourism sustainable. I believe there are several types of tourism with low environmental impact. In fact, we have adopted an important concept from Kazakhstan in this regard – the whole idea of glamping, glamorous camping, which has become popular in the UK. This includes yurts,” noted Katie Leach.

According to her, Kazakh yurts are actively used in the UK. This allows foreigners not only to connect with nature but also to minimize their impact on the environment.

The ambassador highlighted that such projects help make tourism more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

“Now, we have yurts in the UK offering people glamorous camping and the chance to visit beautiful places with a lower impact on nature compared to building large hotels. I think yurts are a wonderful example of sustainable tourism with low impact,” she summarized.
