According to the press service of the akim of the East Kazakhstan region, on December 21, an emergency situation occurred at the Ridder CHPP: a gas-air mixture explosion took place during gas welding works.
The work was being carried out on the coal supply conveyor. The plant's operations were not halted, and heat supply to the subscribers' homes will continue.
Six individuals were injured. According to the management of the heat station, the injured were promptly taken to the hospital. Their condition is assessed as stable, and they are receiving necessary medical assistance.
The akim of the East Kazakhstan region, Yerbek Kosherbaev, arrived at the scene immediately.
According to the regional head, a complete inspection of the station was conducted, the boiler units are functioning normally, and the station continues to operate in routine mode.
Heat supply to the residents of Ridder is ongoing.
As clarified by the regional press service, a further inspection of all boiler units and main equipment is required for a comprehensive assessment of the situation.
The causes of the incident are under investigation.
Specialists are working on-site to conduct the necessary checks to prevent similar incidents in the future.
