How food prices in Kazakhstan have changed over the past week.

Over the past week, the price index for socially significant food products stood at 0.1%. This figure is one of the lowest recorded in the last 10 years, according to the Ministry of Trade, as reported by Kazpravda.kz.

According to the agency, last week saw a decrease in prices for sugar and wheat flour by 0.2%, rice by 0.4%, and buckwheat by 0.9%. Prices for bread, pasta, milk, and kefir remained stable at 0.0%. There was also a slight increase in prices for beef, cottage cheese, and eggs, each rising by 0.1%.

The average price of sugar in the country is 389 tenge. In Aktobe, sugar can be purchased for 349 tenge per kilogram, while in the West Kazakhstan region, it costs 367 tenge.

The average price of wheat flour is 223 tenge per kilogram. In Shymkent, first-grade wheat flour is priced at 168 tenge, while in Aktobe and Karaganda, it is 166 tenge. The cheapest wheat flour is found in the North Kazakhstan region, where it costs 150 tenge per kilogram.

The average price of rice in the country is 446 tenge. In Kyzylorda, rice can be bought for 389 tenge per kilogram, and in Akmolinsk region, it is 406 tenge.

The average price of buckwheat is 207 tenge. In Astana, a kilogram of buckwheat costs 187 tenge, in Karaganda it is 176 tenge, in Kostanay it is 192 tenge, in Pavlodar it is 151 tenge, and in Kyzylorda it is 189 tenge.

The average price of milk in the country is 403 tenge. A liter of milk in Aktobe costs 341 tenge, in Akmolinsk region it is 303 tenge, in Kostanay it is 405 tenge, in East Kazakhstan region it is 381 tenge, in Pavlodar it is 360 tenge, and in Turkestan it is 278 tenge.

Since the beginning of the year, prices for 7 items from the list of socially significant food products have decreased: sunflower oil by 0.8%, sugar by 3.2%, cabbage by 3.3%, wheat flour by 6.3%, rice by 8%, carrots by 9.1%, and buckwheat by 34.5%.
