The farming community expressed gratitude to the country's president.

This year, domestic farmers have harvested over 26 million tons of grain, achieving their best results in the past decade.
Фермерское сообщество выразило благодарность президенту страны.

As noted by the leaders of Kazakh associations and unions operating in the agricultural sector, success has been achieved due to the diligent work of farmers, the use of modern technologies, and timely support from the government. In this regard, they wrote a collective letter to the President of the Republic, expressing gratitude on behalf of the entire farming community and promising to meet the expectations placed upon them.

As stated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the strategic goal of our country is to become one of the leading agricultural centers on the Eurasian continent. To achieve this goal, essentially revolutionary projects to support the agro-industrial complex are being implemented.

According to the chairman of the Union of Potato and Vegetable Growers of Kazakhstan, Kairat Bisetaev, this year there have been radical changes in the financing system for the agricultural sector, which domestic farmers could only dream of in the past.

– For many years, I have stated that Kazakh agriculture will not develop properly until farmers have access to working capital, – emphasizes Kairat Bisetaev. – Yes, farmers can find tractors, combines, and other equipment. There are no issues there. However, with the arrival of spring, they need to renew seeds, purchase fertilizers, and necessary plant protection products... Previously, they were unable to do this due to a lack of working capital.

To obtain a loan, one had to go through seven circles of hell, providing a mountain of documents. If you remember, we used to start applying for loans in the fall, hoping to receive them in full by April. This situation persisted for decades...

Kairat Bisetaev is one of those who believes that leaders of agro-industrial formations should always have funds for working capital. From this aspect, one can assess the ability of farmers to manage existing resources and achieve the goals set by the government.

– In many countries, the government provides farmers not only with land but also with other opportunities for effective activity. To support agricultural formations, this year the "Kең дала-2" loan program was launched, which allows access to inexpensive loans with a minimal set of documents. The interest rate for these loans is 5% per annum. This year, within the framework of this project, farmers received 400 billion tenge. By 2025, this amount will increase to 700 billion, and eventually will grow to one and a half trillion tenge. This indicates that every farmer with land can work at maximum efficiency, – believes Kairat Bisetaev.

As a result, domestic representatives of the agro-industrial complex will be able to significantly increase production volumes and compete with other producers in neighboring markets.

This year, thanks to favorable weather conditions, the efforts of farmers, and government support, high yields have been achieved. According to information published in an Open Letter to the President, with an average yield of about 16 centners per hectare, some fields have yielded 40-50 centners per hectare.

“Preferential financing of the agricultural sector, which was significantly increased at your directive, has been a great support for us. Thanks to convenient leasing conditions, updating equipment has become much more accessible for rural residents. This year alone, over 20,000 units of new agricultural machinery have been acquired. Timely financing has allowed us to quickly obtain the necessary resources for sowing and harvesting. All the conditions created for us enable planning work several steps ahead. We are especially pleased that starting in December of this year, we will be able to receive the first funds for the next harvest. This decision has been welcomed by every farmer in our country,” wrote Kazakh farmers in their address to the President.

Among those who signed the open letter to the head of state is the well-known Kazakh organizer of agricultural production, Ivan Sauer. Like the chairman of the Union of Potato and Vegetable Growers, he believes that the colossal support from the government has been the key to success.

– During President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's working visit to our village in August of this year, we demonstrated to him our preparations for the harvest campaign and the equipment. Such attention from the Head of State has certainly inspired us. Preferential lending has been a great support. Never before has financing for the sector been carried out on such a scale as it is now. The direct provision of funds, without subsidy instruments, is also a new mechanism for supporting domestic farmers, – says Ivan Sauer.

In 2025, government support for farmers will become even more effective and extensive, contributing to the further development of the agro-industrial sector. On the part of the farmers themselves, as before, maximum dedication and commitment to their chosen work is required. Their aim is not only to increase labor productivity, enhance potential, and reduce dependence on imported goods but ultimately to transform the country into one of the leading agricultural centers on the Eurasian continent.
