For a year now, residents of Kazakhstan have had access to a convenient online method for obtaining technical conditions for the gasification of their homes and facilities through eGov.kz. This service was launched by the gas distribution company in October 2023, and since then, over 31,000 consumers have utilized it. This solution saves citizens time and effort that was previously required for visiting offices and filling out paper documents.
Individuals can submit an application for technical conditions for gasification via the eGov.kz portal, using an electronic digital signature (EDS), all from the comfort of their homes. The review and issuance process for technical conditions takes 5 working days for technically simple objects and 10 working days for technically complex objects.
There is also active work underway in implementing digital technologies to enhance convenience for citizens and increase the efficiency of services.
“Another convenience for subscribers is the payment for consumed natural gas. Thanks to agreements between JSC ‘QazaqGaz Aimaq’ and second-tier banks, subscribers can pay for natural gas consumption services through various bank mobile applications,” explains the Managing Director for Marketing and Digitalization Demeu Seitzhanov.
However, issues have arisen during the gasification process and the servicing of internal gas equipment due to the actions of fraudsters. The company has received complaints from citizens about so-called “gas workers” – individuals posing as employees of the gas company, threatening to disconnect gas service and demanding payment for supposedly mandatory technical maintenance. These unscrupulous individuals often use names similar to “QazaqGaz Aimaq” and present fake identification badges.
“JSC ‘QazaqGaz Aimaq’ may require consumers to have a service contract for internal gas equipment in accordance with the law, but it cannot specify a particular organization for entering into the contract. Additionally, our employees do not require on-site payments. All payments are made officially against an issued invoice,” noted the Director of the Production and Technical Department Ablikim Yusupov.
Such cases of fraud are also noted during the process of obtaining technical conditions for gasification. Criminals offer paid services for the preparation of technical conditions, misleading citizens. JSC specialists remind that technical conditions for the gasification of residential homes and facilities are provided free of charge. The company urges citizens to remain vigilant and to contact only official sources.
