The event was attended by representatives from the agency, the Ministry of Transport, the railway and water transport committees, the sanitary and epidemiological control authority, JSC "National Company 'Kazakhstan Temir Zholy'," and the "Association of Carriers of Railway Transport for Socially Significant Communications."
“Serious violations in the passenger transport subsidy system were discussed. Special attention was given to issues concerning individual private carriers, who, despite significant revenues from government support, do not provide adequate quality of services. This results in numerous complaints from passengers regarding the sanitary and technical condition of the cars,” the government agency stated.
Additionally, issues related to ticket shortages and regular train delays, which cause inconvenience to citizens, were highlighted.
As a result of the meeting, the agency proposed to revise the methodology for calculating subsidies, to work on the digitization of the subsidy system, to ensure effective monitoring and control (audio and video recording of train inspections, establishing quality service assessment criteria and a system of penalties), to conduct audits in the carrier companies, as well as to increase the share of new cars.
