After identifying offenders, bailiffs will impound vehicles until the debt is fully paid off.
“As of October 30, the total debt for property tax amounts to 2 billion 616 million tenge, with the majority stemming from transport tax at 2 billion 140 million tenge, and property tax at 476 million tenge,” clarified the press service of the State Revenue Department of Astana.
To avoid enforcement actions (such as account seizures and travel restrictions outside of Kazakhstan), the Department urges individuals to check and settle their debts. Information regarding the absence (or presence) of tax debts can be verified on the official website of the Committee of State Revenue of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan, on the e-government portal egov.kz, and through the mobile applications eSalyq Azamat and second-tier banks.
If there is an outstanding debt, bailiffs will impose restrictions, which can be checked in the list of debtors temporarily restricted from leaving the country, available on the website of the Ministry of Justice of Kazakhstan.
