“As a resident of this region who maintains constant communication with local residents, I confidently assert that the road is still unfinished. For instance, in the Isatai district, the 17-kilometer bypass road from Akkystau to Tushykudyk has not even begun. In some areas, the asphalt layer has not been laid. In the village of Yergaliyev, the construction of a bridge remains incomplete, forcing traffic to detour. On the sections from 621 to 753 km, which belong to the first, second, and third lots, that is, 132 km of road, speed limit signs indicating a maximum of 60 km/h are still in place. This indicates that work on these sections is not completed,” stated Majilis deputy Serik Eruabaev, voicing a parliamentary inquiry from the “Ak Zhol” faction to the First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar.
He noted that official inquiries were sent to JSC “National Company ‘KazAvtoZhol’” on November 10 (No. 5-11-1600) and December 5 (No. 5-11-1795) regarding the condition of republican and regional roads in Atyrau region.
“The national company did not provide specific data in its response. Why does the national company ‘KazAvtoZhol’ not provide complete information in response to the inquiries from Majilis deputies? Or are the officials at the national company in their comfortable offices completely unaware of the situation regarding road construction in the regions? Furthermore, we are concerned about the state of the roads affected by the spring flood. According to deputies from local maslikhats of the ‘Ak Zhol’ party, the road sections towards Atyrau — Uralsk, as well as in the areas of Kulsary, Inder, and Kyzylkoga, which were damaged during the flooding, have still not been fully restored. Therefore, there are grounds to believe that the situation in other regions of the country affected by natural disasters is unlikely to be better,” concluded Serik Eruabaev.
In this regard, the “Ak Zhol” faction requests the following information:
Let us remind you that on February 7, 2024, the head of state pointed out the prolonged timelines for the reconstruction of significant roads for our country: Astana — Balkhash — Almaty (since 2017), Atyrau — Astrakhan, Aktobe — Kandyagash, Taldykorgan — Ust-Kamenogorsk (since 2019). The President instructed that these works be completed in 2024.
On December 23, during a speech in parliament, the Minister of Transport and Communications Marat Karabaev reported the complete finishing of repair works on the aforementioned roads and their commissioning.
