As of today, there are approximately 21,000 enforcement documents regarding alimony collection in Astana.
“The Departments of Justice and Police of Astana, along with the regional chamber of private bailiffs, are consistently conducting the raid operation ‘Borishker’. Its aim is to collect funds from individuals who evade alimony payments or conceal their sources of income, which belong to their children,” said the Deputy Head of the Justice Department of the capital Zhanna Syumbaeva at a briefing in the SCC.
According to her, since the beginning of the year, as a result of such raid operations, 104 vehicles have been detained, with 52 of those related to alimony being impounded at a municipal special parking lot. The total amount reached 67 million tenge. Currently, work is underway to assess and auction off the detained vehicles by private bailiffs.
To assist unemployed debtors in this category of enforcement proceedings, a “job fair” is held monthly in collaboration with the Akimat of Astana. Thanks to these measures, in 2024, 136 debtors found employment and settled their alimony debts.
Since the start of the year, the court in Astana has held 163 debtors administratively liable for evading alimony payments, with 39 of them being arrested for periods ranging from two to five days, while the others were fined 5 MRP.
