“The prosecutor's office of Aktobe has established that an accountant, taking advantage of his official position from 2019 to 2024, embezzled budget funds allocated for school needs, totaling over 230 million tenge. The embezzlement schemes were carried out by issuing salaries above the established norm and through double vacation pay. The accountant's actions have been classified under paragraph 2 of part 4 of article 189 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ‘Embezzlement or misappropriation of entrusted property,’” the prosecutor's office clarified.
Special prosecutors have forwarded the criminal case to the Aktobe Court No. 2 for substantive consideration. On October 24, the court found the accountant guilty and sentenced him to 6 years in prison, with a ban on holding positions of material responsibility for 7 years.
